Russell Hantz rewrote idol-hunting on the spot. In Samoa he found three hidden idols with no clues at all — just digging at the base of trees — then wielded them like weapons, all while torching his own tribe's socks and dumping out their water for sport. He bulldozed his way to the end twice in a row.
And he lost twice. The jury he'd manipulated couldn't stand to reward him, handing Samoa to Natalie White 7-2 and shutting him out entirely in Heroes vs. Villains as Sandra took her second crown. For all his idols and aggression, he never won a single immunity challenge — the ultimate proof that Survivor is, in the end, a social game.
