Erik Cardona played Samoa on Galu, the strong tribe that dominated the pre-merge while Russell Hantz tore through Foa Foa on the other side of the island. When the merge scrambled Galu's numbers, Erik was caught in the fallout — voted out at the merge as the very first member of the jury.
But his game wasn't over. At Final Tribal Council he delivered one of the most consequential jury speeches in the show's history, making the closing argument for Natalie White: he tore into Russell's arrogance, called out Mick Trimming for never living up to his self-styled leader role, and argued that Natalie was every bit as dangerous as the villain sitting beside her — that the player who thinks she's the least deserving is probably the most. He told the jury he was voting for her and hoped four more would follow. They did. Natalie won 7-2-0, and Erik's speech is widely credited with helping swing the room.
