Boston Rob voted Mike Chiesl out, and Mike just refused to stay gone. He'd outlasted the Zapatera collapse and made the merge at Murlonio, but Rob had his Ometepe six marching in lockstep, and the first ex-Zapatera names they picked off were the dangerous ones — the fit, popular Marine and lifeguard landing right at the top of that list. Mike got shipped to Redemption Island, no duel even held that week. Most players take that exit and disappear.
Mike didn't. Out at the island he kept winning duels — surviving the three-way that knocked David Murphy to the jury, hanging on through the four-way where he grabbed a loved-ones reward, advancing again and again while Rob trimmed his own numbers back at camp. The streak only ended at the finale: Andrea Boehlke won the last Redemption showdown and stormed back into the game, ending the runs of Matt, Grant, and Mike all at once. He went out eighth, the fifth juror on the jury that handed Rob his crown 8-1-0 — a guy the winner had to beat twice to actually get rid of.
