The germophobe was always going to be a problem in a beach game. Dave Ball — actor, model, Galu's resident neat freak — spent Samoa fussing over camp hygiene and leaning all the way into the eccentric edit, and for a while none of that touched his game: he was tucked safely inside Galu's eight-strong majority, sitting two-to-one over Russell's stranded Foa Foa Four at the Aiga merge. Then Shambo got fed up with her own tribe, threw in with Russell, and the old powerhouse cracked. Once that flip landed, Galu got peeled apart one Tribal at a time — Kelly, then Laura, then John — until the double-elimination night in episode 12, when Dave's was the first of two names the Russell bloc called. He went out eighth, the fifth juror, with Monica Padilla following him to the jury minutes later, and by the time the smoke cleared only Brett was left from the side that had once held all the numbers. The strangest character Samoa put on the beach, and he never got snuffed for being strange — just for being a Galu vote the week Shambo decided to flip.
