The story

Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien was the scrappy, big-personality Vermont real estate agent at the heart of Marquesas's great power shift. Sent on a merge-ambassador trip, she learned the dominant Rotu alliance planned to cut her — and came back to help engineer the flip that brought the whole bloc down.

She won two individual immunities and pushed to third, where her own final-four immunity gambit triggered the infamous purple-rock tiebreaker. A genuine strategic force in a season defined by its underdog revolt.
