Matsing is the tribe every Survivor fan brings up when they want to describe a cursed draw — the Philippines beach that lost challenge after challenge until there was barely a tribe left to vote off. Roxy drew it, and she didn't sit back and wait for the snuff. After Zane Knight went first, she went looking for the numbers, sniffing out cracks and trying to lock down who was with her before the next loss sent them all back to Tribal.
The problem on a tribe that keeps losing is there's nowhere to hide, and Roxy's name kept coming up. With Matsing crumbling down to a handful, they sent her out seventeenth — ahead of the one castaway nobody on that beach would have bet on, Denise Stapley, who outlasted the whole curse and walked it all the way to the win. Roxy read the danger early; on Matsing, reading it was never going to be enough.
