Miss Delaware showed up to Philippines with the pageant poise and not much of a game plan, and on Kalabaw that combination never had time to grow. When the tribes got reshuffled and the rebuilt Kalabaw kept losing, the youngest, least-connected number is the easy one to trim — and Katie Hanson had spent her whole stay short on the strategic footing to be anything else.
So she got cut as the last boot before the merge, voted out twelfth — the last boot before the jury, one Tribal short of the Dangrayne merge. Days after she left, Tandang and Kalabaw merged into Dangrayne and went to war, RC opening the jury and the numbers seesawing vote to vote — the wide-open scramble that finally hands a strong pre-merge player a foothold. Katie missed it by a single vote.
