Then the merge hit and the women's machine took over. Ami Cusack had a six-strong alliance and a dream of an all-female finish, and they went man by man: Sarge first, 7-1-1, then Chad next, voted out 6-2 and into the eighth-place spot on the jury. The brutal part is the timing — Chad's exit left Chris Daugherty as the last man against six women, and one round later Chris cracked Twila and Scout off the bottom of the alliance and ran the table for the win. Chad gutted out the entire game and walked out one vote before the underdog comeback caught fire, having outlasted everyone but missed the door by a single round.
