Shauhin Davari teaches debate for a living, and on Survivor 48 it showed. He talked his way into every room that mattered. Out of Lagi and through the merge he was never just along for the ride. He was a real number in the middle of the vote, the player you wanted on your side because he could sell a plan and read exactly where a Tribal was leaning.
The catch with a great talker is the night somebody listens a little too closely. At the final six Shauhin laid out his whole pitch to the wrong ear, and it got turned straight back on him. He went out sixth, the sixth juror, blindsided by his own best argument. The professor got out-talked at his own subject. Fitting.
