Rick Nelson — "Cowboy Rick" — was the deadpan comic relief of South Pacific, a Montana rancher in a ten-gallon hat whose drawled one-liners and unflappable calm made him an unexpected fan favorite. A rock-solid soldier in Coach Wade's Upolu alliance, he never made waves and never wavered, which was exactly why his alliance was happy to keep him around vote after vote.
That loyalty and low profile carried him all the way to fifth before Upolu finally turned on its own. A genuinely lovable character who proved that sometimes the safest seat in the game belongs to the man asking for nothing.
