The story

Paul Wachter, a 52-year-old boat mechanic and the season's oldest player, immediately appointed himself leader of the Gen-X tribe, forming the alliance that ran the first vote. He even weathered a medical scare without being pulled.

But his domineering 'captain' persona grated on David Wright and Ken McNickle, and after a misstep with Jessica Lewis the tribe turned and blindsided him on Day 10.
