An ex-Cowboys and Bears safety who came in a dyed-in-the-wool superfan, Danny McCray was exactly the kind of player Survivor 41 was built to chew up: a big, likable challenge beast on the loaded Luvu tribe who could also talk strategy. He coasted on Luvu's pre-merge muscle, then hit the Viakana merge as a name everybody had circled. You can only be the threat in the room for so long before someone does something about it.
At the final six, Deshawn handed them the opening. Eaten up by guilt, he blurted out a confession at Tribal that blew up a plan and nearly torched his own game on the spot, and the fallout scrambled the vote into a deadlock. On the revote the names landed on Danny, one of the last real threats left standing, and he went to the jury in sixth on a clean 4-0. The competitor in him didn't stay home long: he turned around and won the men's title on The Challenge: USA, the win Survivor never let him have.
