GC won the very first necklace of Gabon — the Day-1 race up the hill that handed Fang an individual immunity good for exactly one Tribal — and then spent the rest of his game treating alliances like they were optional. He didn't want to scheme; he wanted to take people at their word, which on Survivor's most cursed tribe is basically a death wish.
So on the double-Tribal night that snuffed two torches at once, GC was the easy call: the guy who'd never fully locked into a group, gone in fourteenth while Kelly Czarnecki got 'he's a snake, but he's my snake'd off the other beach. Honest to a fault on a Fang tribe where honesty got you nowhere — and never close enough to a vote to see the jury.
