Ben Driebergen, a Marine Corps veteran, spent the back half of Heroes v Healers v Hustlers as the entire game's number-one target — and survived anyway by becoming an idol-hunting machine. He found and played a hidden idol on three consecutive nights, voiding every vote against him each time.
His run was so unstoppable that producers introduced the now-permanent final-four fire-making challenge specifically to give the others a way to stop him. Ben made fire anyway and won the title 5-2-1, one of the great against-all-odds runs in the show's history.
