Austin played Panama — Exile Island — back when the season opened with four tiny tribes before collapsing into two. He started on Viveros and slid into the merge as a likable, easygoing presence, lasting 21 days and reaching ninth.
He never grabbed the game by the throat, but early on he didn't have to; he floated through the shuffles until the dominant Casaya alliance turned its attention to thinning out everyone else. A genial mid-game boot in one of the franchise's twistier formats.
